Krisztina PONGRATZ CHANDER has done extensive field work in the coffee producing regions across Costa Rica and has written about the struggle of small coffee producers in the country. She has been teaching International Relations, Political Economy and Globalization since 2007. In addition to fair trade, her research and academic interests focus on global inequality, social problems, and alternatives to globalization. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Economics, a Master's degree in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Political Science. Dr. Pongratz currently teaches at Newbury College, in Brookline, Massachusetts. She lives in Boston with her husband, her three kids and her dog Nutella.
